Each month-long act of the Borg Arc will reveal a new story, unleash challenging enemies, and deliver valuable rewards to earn. Your achievements each month will matter throughout the arc, so be sure to begin uncovering the secrets of the Borg today and return each month. Month-long events will run throughout each act of the Borg Seasonal Arc. Each event will have a series of milestones unlocked by completing Borg missions and activities, and every milestone will award you a new pack of rewards such as resources, materials, Borg Officer shards, and new Borg missions.

The 5th Milestone of the Borg Recon Event awards the Borg Mission Keys needed to unlock the mission chain! Missions are recommended for level 25+

To begin this month’s Borg Event (Borg Reconnaissance), head to the Events Tab ingame, to learn how you can score points. Once you reach a milestone you’ll receive standard rewards, as well as premium reward tokens which may be redeemed in the Event Store. However, you can only redeem the premium tokens if you’ve purchased the Premium Reward Unlock Pack. If you acquire the Premium Rewards Unlock Pack after you’ve already begun progressing through the event, you’ll still be able to redeem premium rewards for each milestone you’ve already completed. cont: Events Tab at the STFC Blog

Introducing the new Borg hostiles that have entered the galaxy, the Borg Tactical Probes! Borg Tactical Probes are dangerous hostiles awaiting you in Borg systems. Hunting Borg Tactical Probes rewards you with Inert Nano Probes. Commanders are advised to dispatch their strongest ships to gather as many Inert Nano Probes as possible, as warping to the system requires Transwarp Cells.

Note – Cancelling warp still consumes your Transwarp Cells so beware when travelling to the borg systems

Once you have collected your plethora of Nanoprobes from the Borg systems, head to your refinery to refine your Nano probes. Once in the refinery tab you can choose between 2 types of refined Nanoprobes, “Active Nano probes” which are used to upgrade Borg officers or “Charged Nanoprobes” which are used for upgrading the Vi'Dar or Faction Reputation credits.

Q. What is the Vi'Dar ?

A. The Vi’dar is a new ship that is predominantly used to fight off the Borg Tactical Probes.

Q. How can I obtain the Vi’dar

A. The Vi’dar can be obtained by:

Completing the missions (50% blueprints) and the final milestone of the Borg event in phase 2 (50% blueprints) Players will also have the chance to A – Buy a pack and redeem 50% of the blueprints or B – buy a pack to redeem 100% of the blueprints

Q. What class of ship will the Borg tactical probes be? How can we earn transwarp cells?
A. It'll be it's own tier like the Franklin. There might be a point where Borg become their own faction but that's in the future and a big MAYBE.
A2. Transwarp cells can be obtained through a daily gift box that can be redeemed every 22 hours AND you have to have the Vi'dar in order to get this gift
Also - You can only have 8 transwarp cells in your inventory at each time
The biggest reason for gating this is so that the borg systems are not filled with players just trying to PvP
Q. Will we have to use uncommon/rare g3 or g4 material to upgrade it?
A. There will definitely some more resources
Q. Please tell me the missions have no 2g rewards
A. Missions rewards are level based
Q. Just woke up so excuse me If Its been asked... Why not a cube? I'm appalled
A. This is just the first part, there will be more borg content and finally those anticipated cubes beaming into the quadrant
Q. So the new ships entire point is pretty much to collect parts to upgrade said new ship?
A. When killing the borg tactical probes you receive Intert Nanoprobes - Inert NanoProbes can be refined. Once in the refinery tab, you can choose between 2 types of refined NanoProbes, “Active Nanoprobes” which are used to promote Borg officers or “Charged NanoProbes” which are used to tier up the Vi’dar or other purchases premium event store.
Q. Question will the new updates before pay to play players?
A. You can receive the Vi'Dar through paying or playing

Q. Is the new ship/content not just another version of Swarms but with a pay to play (Transwarp Cells) element of hunting red triangles?
A. It does essentially have a similar (ish) mechanic but there are a lot of new ways with what you can do with the content
Q. or “Charged NanoProbes” which are used to tier up the Vi’dar or other purchases premium event store, so will there be any use for nanoprobes after event store closes other than tiering up the ship/promoting officers?
A. That I need to check BUT i'm 99.9% sure that this will stay and you can do this on a daily basis and there will be more events around this ALSO there are 3 arcs to the borg and this is just the 2nd one
Q. how much will the new ship cost. And what shipyard level will it require.
A. level 16+ can acquire this ship needs a shipyard of lvl 25, however
Q. How can I acquire the **Vi'dar**

A. One way we're countering this is by gating or having only 8 cells in your inventory
Q. there was a mention of Faction credits via the refinery? What's this?
A. Charged Nanoprobes can also be exchanged for Faction credits
Q. So the new borg refinery replaced the bonus refinery. Are there no longer going to be bonus refinery events?
A. No, there will be a separate tab for Borg refinery where you can refine your Nanoprobes
Q. Are there additional Borg crews?
A. Not this arc but there will be more crew coming in AND I'M SO EXCITED FOR 1 SPECIFIC ONE
Q. Will we be able to complete whole event milestones without buying that vidar class ship? As for sub events if hunting borgs will be part of subevents then it may prove hard to finish milestones to get ship
A. Yes of course - The whole point is that players can acquire the Vi'DAR as F2P by doing the milestones and we learned from the previous ARC so we're making it a bit easier for players that want to take the F2P course
Q. Are transwarp cells needed to warp back to normal space?
A. No
Q. will the hijacked ships be available whilst this Borg event is on?
A. Not that I know of
Q. Will the new ship have limitations like the Botany bay that requires lvl 30 for rare plutonium?
A. The only requirements for the time being are Charged NanoProbes which are refined from inert
Q. So the Vi'dar is crystal & gas to upgrade?
A. Need to check the exact stuff BUT there should be some other RSS to upgrade it
Q. Is the daily event spread likely to be different this time round? Doing day after day of domination events is Resources draining to say the least.
A. Domination events will still be part of the event rotation but there is a bigger spread of PVE vs Resource spending Vs others
Q. will you please answer EMH question about the officer in more then 12 words

A. Clean slate for the event store - One thing to note - Premium event store (I'm calling it premium) because that's what it's there for

A. They will go straight to your inventory

Q. is it possible to still acquire the first borg officer for those that didn't manage to get all the blueprints?
A. Yap you shall be able to
Q. Will scopely start the Events now in the middle of the night?
A. Once the maintenance is over and we know everything is working well then we will be launching the event in the next 4 - 5 hours
Q. Will event store be opened to everyone this time around, or pack must be purchased to gain access to event store
A. So as mentioned - This is not an EVENT STORE per say it's more if you buy the premium unlock pack you get the ability to get more items and instead of having more drops from missions you get to have the event store
Q. Will there be a PvP aspect to any Borg events or sadly just Pve?
A. Indirect PVP yes - More on the lines of the borg systems kinda pvp but no pure PVP
Q. Will the borg epic tokens be able to be redeemed during this arc or the next?
A. Last ARC
Q. Will our Borg points carry over from the previous arc?
A. No BUT we're looking for ways where players can redeem them at the end of the 3rd Arc - SO if you have left over stuff you'll be able to redeem them later on
Q. So, you will need special warp things to get to the new systems? What happens to those non-refundable warp thingys when the game inevitably crashes and boots you out?
A. Yes we know this can be an issue and Player Support are ready and armed to tackle this stuff so send them a ticket to get your Transwarp Cell back
Q. Apologies if already asked and answered (didn't see in pinned messages)... How will mission keys be obtained?
A. Missions will directly go to your inventory

Q. The new ship is level locked but will the BPs still be available during this ark to lower players from events and missions so they aren't forced to buy a ship later that others get for free?
A. The Vi'dar will be available to players 16+Q.
Q. Are there plans to bring out any higher level 3s and 4s non-fiction ships? (Independant).
A. Not that I know of unfortunately
Q. Panic How many new systems have been added with this Arc for the farming. And am I required to wear pants
A. You should manage with short pants but beware

Q. Is the Vi'dar a Romulan faction ship? i.e. will Romulan ship research boost it's stats?
A. The Vi'dar is not part of any faction at the moment. It acts like the Franklin BUT this might change in the future Q. Again mission keys for missions?? You wont get those for free or am I wrong??
A. Missions are for free - They're in events
Q. If we use a transwarp coil to reach one Borg system but then want to travel to a different Borg system, wil we need to use another coil?
A. you can't go from borg system to borg system. they're not connected. so you leave a borg system and to enter a new system you need to pay the toll
Q. Will there be a day added like swarm sunday so you can get rewards on a daily basis? Will there be anything added to the daily missions borg related?
A. I don't know the specific plans for what's happening after the 3rd Arc but let's be patient for now. We still have another Arc of the Borg
Q. If a player forgot to shield TODAY, Will this player be protected by cease fire OR the player better pray to RNG that his base is safe?
A. Ceasefire is being added so this will work from the next maintenance
Q. The new hostiles, Borg Tactical Probes, What's the starting strength & level of these new hostiles?
A. That's a really good question and I have no clue, need to check it out but Borg systems will be also level based
Q. Is the Vi’dar Romulan tied or faction free?
A. The Vi'dar is faction free for now
Q. Will we be getting any borg related new avatars? and can you give any hints on if the borg queen might make an appearance?

Q. where do we get the transwarp coils
A. Transwarp cells can be acquired from free gifts given to you every day or through events or through the store - You can only acquire these cells if you've built the Vi'dar
Q. is there any other way to obtain the required materials to get to the borg space apart from daily chests?
A. Cells aren't acquired from dailies but from a free gift every day / events / stores
Q. For those of us that have premium Borg reward credits... what will they be utilized for, moving forward? I spent money for credits that are no longer useful?
A. Clean slate BUT we're looking for various ways on how you can use your credits at the end of the ARC
Q. vidar require over lvl 25?
A. 16+
Q. You mentioned that only players OPS 25+ can get Transwarp Cells via 24-hour gift
A. Since you can acquire the Vi'dar from level 16+ logic dictates that you SHOULD also receive cells but need to confirm
Where did I mention that cells are available to 25+?!
Q. It was a confusion made by the fact that you need lvl 25 shipyard to build that ship
A. Apologies for the confusion but yes, you need level 25 shipyard to build it
But you can start acquiring the BPs for it, from level 16
Main reason is that because most players that want to take the F2P route will be level 25 by the end of the Arc
so we want to give those players that will reach that level at the end to have acquired the ship as well
Q. How will PVP be managed in transwarp systems, having used cells to get there, I know people who will wait and kill you “coz they can”. Feels like you could collect them, travel to a system and “boom”
A. Well if people want to do this it's their own prerogative and yes I understand that's annoying as hell (I remember the ganking I was given when playing other MMOs) BUT at least we're limiting the amount of times they can get there by needing them to have 8 cells at any time
Q. Would it be possible to get a cost breakdown of the packs that are related to Arc 2?
A. 20 euros - get the premium unlock / 50 - all 20 and 50% of vi'dar bps / 100 all others + 100% vi'dar + materials to upgrade the Vi'dar
Q. Can we have more than 1 Vi’dar on this 2nd Borg Arch? Say, buy it + free blue prints = TWO Vi’dar?
A. one will only be available to acquire for now

A. Even if you build it at 16 the Borg systems are at level 25
Q. i guess you could have a bought vidar and a second via f2p event, but you are limited by number of transwarp

A. You can use as many transwarp cells. Each warp will pop off a cell

If someone pays for the ship and any related pack, and are expecting to be able to play/complete missions but several players are deliberately targeting ships in Borg space to frustrate their gameplay and waste cells, does this come under Scopely’s ToS regarding outside interference etc and are players entitled to a refund as they are not getting what they paid for?
A. This is part of the gameplay - PvP is part of the game and an integral part of it. If I play in WoW and are trying to finish my quests yet I have an alliance member ganking me nonstop for 5 days straight do I get a refund from Blizzard?
Q. Why do you say that you introduced Transwarp Cells because you want to "protect us" if this is a lie???
A. This is a redundant question not worth answering

A. Will start VERY SOON, we're just looking that everything is straightened out with the maintenance and once we're good to go we'll launch the whole new ARC and you'll receive the missions straight away

A. It's actually at 350%

Q. Just one follow up - if I want 24 days head start, and buy the ship from the store - does that 100 (110€ actually) pack includes tokens for premium store, or I need to buy separate 22€ pack for premium event store?
A. 100 dollar / euro pack also has 8 tokens

A. From milestones 6 – 9 (50%) and from the final milestone of the Borg event in phase 2 (50% blueprints)

Players level 16+ can obtain the Vi’dar (+ Shipyard of lvl 25 to build)

Q. Will arc 2 have same luxurious "event" or "premium" store items, and or milestone rewards? That was actually a good call on arc 1, and would be widely accepted again. A. Yep there will! A premium store will be available Q. Will the events be easier to complete to acquire Vi'dar, not like the hard grind for finishing arc 1?
A. We got a lot of learning from the 1st ARC and we have adjusted all milestones. On average (me too) I was able to complete all milestones with 3 - 4 days before the end
Q. When is the new borg event going to actually start?
A. Today once we've ironed out all possible issues that might arise
Q. Are the listed borg systems currently visible in the galaxy?
A. Should be yes
Q. I asked about the cells from the daily chest - how many? Is it linked to ops?
A. It's not linked to ops and you'll be getting 2 cells every 22 hours
Q. Will this arc still have pieces of 1 of 10 for collection?
A. Yes
Q. Is it not unfair to ask us to buy those trans warp coils to enter systems, but I can’t see what targets I find there? If I remember swarms , then I cant hit one lvl 32 swarm ship even though I do usually several lvl37 in other pve . It would cost me experiments using my strongest ship, crews and then it’s also the question when my new borg ship is able to do its job. I don’t wanna waste dozens of those expensive tokens before I leaned how to use them . Will there be an recommendation
A. In short - The Vi'Dar will be your best bet to defeat the probes.

A. You CANNOT travel to another borg system from a borg system. You have to go through other systems as well. Also it's called Cells Coils are for the Franklin hehe

A. The Vi’dar can be obtained by

Q. How does the premium reward unlock pack work?

The premium rewards unlock pack will last for 24 days
Premium missions will be included in regular rewards
By buying the Borg Prem Rewards Unlock Pack you can unlock the premium reward event store
The Premium rewards unlock pack unlocks the Premium rewards “event store”
Players level 16+ can get all 100 Vi’dar blueprints in the regular rewards (not premium)
