An important element of the game is the construction of new buildings and multiple upgrades to these building. Each step has costs and takes time. See also Research
Resources Costs[]
In the early stages only the three main ressources are required for building Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium. Later you need Ore, Raw Gas and Raw Crystal in there different common or uncommon forms.
Currently one modifer is know to reduces the base costs for construction and upgrading
- Research: Building Efficiency (15 Levels, 150% Max Bonus): only reduces the required amount of Parsteel, Tritanium and Dilithium.
The formula for the acutal required amount is: <actual resource costs> = <base costs> / (1+ Sum(BonusModifiers)
Building Times[]
Every construction or upgrading step takes time to complete. Again there are modifers that can improve the speed of construction.
- Research: Construction Speed (15 Levels, 125% Max Bonus)
- Research: Prime Build Speed (1 Level, 100% Max Bonus)
The time it require for you is calculated by: <actual time> = <base time> / (1+ Sum(BonusModifiers)
Instant Building[]
You have the option to build or upgrade a building through the use of Latinum. Though many players also choose to play the game without purchasing packs of latinum or other packs where it's included, it is also attainable through the game with Events or Daily Missions.
The building is then instantly upgraded, when you 'click to instant build'. This is usually going to be out of range of some who do not purchase Latinum of course.
